God's Love Lyrics

The first line, is the greatest metaphor for Christianity I have ever heard, and my favorite metaphor. "Silently beset by the hands of time, And elegant in its fury" I think this is about how Christianity has changed over time, whereas, it used to be, atleast somewhat believable, and less hypocritic, as compared to now, where it seems full of hate (One of the highest murder motives is religion), and just here to censor and control, and long ago it wasn't as Greg would say it, it wasn't as dogmatic. "While viruses prowl for helpless victims Who succumb rapidly," viruses, are the people who are trying to "spread God's word", and how people are so willing to blindly believe that God is real, and he is there to help us. "(Tell me!) Tell me; where is the love? In a careless creation When there’s no “above” There’s no justice" About how, Christianity has turned quite violent. The "above" I think is metaphor for good, and how there is no justice anymore, just lots of hate.
"Just a cause and no cure And a bounty of suffering It seems we all endure And what I’m frightened of Is that they call it “God’s love” The first part, is how they say, we are all born "dirty", (something Hitler called the Jews, as well as other people he discriminated against, and though, i dont think that is relevent, just something to think about) the suffering we all endure: "Original Sin" and, when they don't have a reasonable explanation, they use some bullshit excuse, like, gods plan or gods love. "Well we twist in torment and make believe There’s a truth and we all submit “Believe my eyes,” my brain replies To all that they interpret" About how people, no matter if they still get tormented, they still blindly believe in god. They think that it's the truth, so they all submit and nurture the "cause" to help get a cure. The last part, is Greg saying, that he uses his eyes, and sees no evidence in the religious rights claims of redemption, or anything else they say. "We can change our minds; there’s a better prize" He is saying, we can stop this, the religious right and their control, that we can work for real change, real peace and happiness, rather than just waiting for some god to come and rescue us, and do it all for us. The last lines, are how, he is in pain, from seeing other people follow these beliefs blindly, giving money to churches, and all that, while, in reality, they aren't getting anything in return.

Ok, that is all i have to say, this is one of my favorite BR songs....
