as from my old addictions.

"Chasing the Dragon" is a term used when heroin is inhaled through smoking the vapours usually by heating it up on foil and using a tube to breathe them in, also smokable through a "bulb" which is a glass cylinder with a bulbed end to put the drugs in and be heated over a flame.
Rock-dude was almost right, heroin IS an opioid but it is not near as cheap or as harmless as opium.

Heroin along with cocaine are known as "rich man's drugs", prices range anywhere from $25 per .25 grams and when you get bad into them you WILL end up paying quite a bit for them when you need an "8-ball" (one eighth of an ounce or about 3.5 grams) which is the amount that someone badly addicted will end up buying each time. That's $350 dollars, quite a bit of money to be paying for something like that.
"Fix" is also another nickname for Heroin aswell.
Another interesting fact is that when Princes arrive in fairytales they always show up on a "White Horse" , yet another nickname for heroin.
Although I have several interpretations of this song, the most prominent is that Brian considers Heroin to be his prince on a white horse come to save him from the pains of living.
