yeah that would be part of it. in life you see the rising and falling of...life, talking about motives shot only can imply a failure of reasoning. no one likes to believe something and have it get shot out of the sky with truth. thats why the want for tolerance runs so rampant in america, people just want others to accept their ideas and beliefs without having to accept others.
this song probably refers to a relationship or a "letting go of a dear friend" probably not a girl because that would make this song emo....not good. but im not completely shutting that idea out.
