I think this song is about how people give into the world..and its like throwing your life into a grave. And how u have no more guilt(wich is bad), and u lost your innocence. And then the chorous is asking God for mercy. Then the song goes on to try to get his life back on track and how time is healing his wounds and God is still there releasing the fear.
