for one thing, unforgiveness is not a word. second, it does not fit the lyrics, nor does the word sound like "unforgiveness." the word is "transgression," listen to the song, you'll hear it. transgression, look it up, it fits the song better than the ficticious "unforgiveness"
But as for the song, the meaning seems pretty clear:
He has done something he regrets, and as some might understand, regret can be damn painful...especially if you cant forgive youself for it.
"though the wings of a dove have wiped the tears from my eyes, this tounge has fanned the flames of transgression."
although I have been forgiven, I have sinned, and burned my bridges.
"Is grace enough?" Good question
Does forgiveness really mend the damage done?
Either that or the song is about trying to find "the eternal"
Nevertheless this is one of my all time favorite songs. Top ten without a doubt.
