What a great song, it's so feel good and easy to relate to. I think it's about a bloke being drunk (dutch courage?), and he's probably been whinging for ages to someone, that he's love with, about how everything is a bit crap (Hence why the dark times will fade). So he's turned up and started singing at her about how he feels. I imagine it's late at night and the person he's singing at is hanging out the window thinking that he's totally mad and looking at him confused and beaming at him cause it's all going to end so well.
