a song about God, perhaps. Sixpence none the richer are a Christian band, I believe the song was originally done by crowded house, who I think also had Christian leanings. Freedom is provided by God, freedom inside, but Christianity may restrict you from doing something else, denying freedom without, in theory. Deluge in a paper cup, perhaps this is referring to when the samaritan woman said to Jesus, "even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the masters table." The next bit im not sure on, perhaps it is about the state of the world, battles. The last line of the first verse is still a mystery to me. Chorus, just cos u make a mistake and walk with the world dont mean ur relationship with God is over, the enemy will try to set up a wall between us anf God, but we musn't let him suceed. I agree with linara about the next verse. After this we step out and march on with God, towards his heart for us, what he desires for us, and the liberation and relief provided by it. Maybe wrong, just my ideas.
