I liked this song right of the bat, just like all of TA's songs. It never had to grow on me, especially not this one. I listened to it over and over when I got it.
I think it's about his passion for the night, hating the sung, and such dark characteristics therefore making his love almost like a black rose. I don't know him personally, so I'm sure they're may be other things that make cause him to call his love a 'black rose' but those are my reasons. It being in the 'devil's garden' adds to the imagery and whole dark appraoch to his side of love.
I believe he is also stating that you should be careful becuase he is this way. It also sounds like their is someone he loves and wants to have love him back, hence the 'so pick the black rose and let it thorns cut you' line. And, becuase his love is 'black', his love will cut this other person in a way. Not literally obviously, but in a deep emotional way or something like that.
Anyway, that's what I think of when I hear this song. Very nice.
