This is my 500th post...so I better make it a good one. When Travis Meeks write a song, it's always filled a foreboding that's never meant to be overcome. To me, I think every song I've ever heard by Days of the New is filled with perpetual doom. I can't seem to shake that feeling and I hear listen to this tune and I read the lyrics. I think this a song where somebody with a greater talent or worldly experience is telling a youngster that thinks he's the shit that if the youngster continues with his path of choice, it wil lead to doom. I may be looking too deeply into the lyrics, but it seems to me that I might be one of the last hopeful Days of the New fans out there. This is a great song lyrically and musically and so is most of the Red album. This is one of the best songs on the album and I hope they return to their music-making soon.
