Yeah, I definitely agree with you Eatcarpet. It's hard to find a better jack-in-the-box ending. A guy who later wrote a book on Yes saw them opening a gig with this in the US Midwest in '74, before the album was out, and "my first reaction (as soon as the song started) was that the band had gone crazy!"
Incredible guitar, too. The sound in the middle section is very special, somehow Steve filtered off most of the main tone and caught merely the delay and overtones.
