I knew when I listened thorugh the album "Nearly Human") that it was about a feeling of crisis and getting back to life; years later I read - in an interview with Liv Tyler, that Todd and his then wife Bebe Bueller - Liv's mum - had split up some time before. Somewhere, this song is about the anger and venom that erupts in a dicorce, but also about the feelings of helplessness and fear on behalf of your kids.
Very good lyrics, he uses the images of the Garden of Eden and of some rag doll factory to bring across the feelings. Incredible guitar solo, too.

Excellent song. Not surprising you could provide such an excellent interpretation.
