I think that his friend (whom I believe is most likely female) was raped and is now contemplating suicide. ("Are the memories too hard to take? Rape is a word with a face...") And now, he's just trying to show her that she is loved and cared about and that he doesn't want her to die. I really like Eve 6, they're pretty good. :)
