However, I would suggest that she is speaking from her own perspective. Perhaps she feels as if she, herself is damned, as she seems to be experiencing a living Hell.

this grief is in life. She also seems to desire death to escape: "and the time i will suffer less is when i never have to wake." Therefore, I would suggest that she desires death to escape Hell.
