this song to me is about someone close to you dying and all you can do is think about how sad the situation is, even though in the end you do get over it eben though the thought of the person stays with you forever.
....I love his voice it sounds like he feels the pain each time he sings it, and the bit in the midddle where the musci stops for a bit works so well with the lyrics' change of thought..... wow love these guys
