This whole album is about leaving high school, the insecurities/faults of adolescence, and the move on to bigger things.

This song is about losing in touch with old friends. We all go through renaissance periods, and the friends you have now will not be the friends you have 5 years from now.

The graves he sings about are not posthumous epitaphs, but rather buried relationships. The dynamics have changed, and he can't explain why. He perceives a difference, but he doesn't know who changed first, or when the change took place. No one does.

Times, they are a changing. Just another musical testament.
