I've always wondered why this song is not that famous. It's one of my all-time favourites, basically because Dylan is always very complicated and hard to understand, but this time he writes a song wich is very easy to read through. The landlord is, of course, God. So he is kind of praying, but in his own way - one on one, putting himself at the same level. Still he seems on his knees. A very tender, touching song.
