i really love this song.. one of t-h-e best songs.
i think it's about a girl who finds it hard to fit in and she feels she's emotionally drowning and now all she wants is to go with the flow.
"You said that you could hear bells in the traffic below
I could hear sirens and car engines fighting the snow"
it's like she wants to hear those metaphoric bells too
which means to see the good things even when it's tough and the let go of the attitude in which she is very passimistic and depressed and always goes "against the flow of the tide.."
BUT - there's also another opinion in which she commits suicide....
i hope not...
