There are a few lines in the song that make it seem a lot more dark. For instance "the lake where her cradle was pulled from the water," and "her barrenness barbs her." I do believe that we can assume that she could not conceive and by some Jungle Book-like coincidence they found a young child abandoned in a lake and the queen is bitter about the whole situation. Whatever the case, it's still a great song.
