But things went downhill from there after the agony of playing enormous stadiums turned Young into a disillusioned rock star recluse with an unkempt beard (don't they all grow those?). You can tell from the melancholy tone (and sweet pedal steel solo of Ben Keith) that Young didn't know how to take the exploded exposure and yearned for a simple place where he could disappear for awhile.
