I'll go out on a limb, since nobody else has... too good of a song to pass. Seems like it's describing the way a person tends to freak out and sometimes screw up when spending time with the special person, especially when things are just starting. Puts to words the stuff going through your head at that moment.

I remember my first date with Tom (8 yrs my senior when I was in college). After an entire night of first double dating for pizza and then hanging out at his house listening to music, he told me he intentionally allowed me to have a chive stuck to my front tooth the entire evening. He thought it was funny:) I was mortified being...
