I can't believe no one has commented on this!! It's an incredible song, and the acoustic version after "REWARD" (track 13) is absolutely beautiful. He goes into this room, and you can hear the door squeak as he closes it. Then he picks up his guitar and his microphone...And he breathes into it once. Just this kind of (ahhhh) sound...And then he starts playing. Anyway, I would say that the song is a classic girlfriend. She wants him to change, do things her way, and he's saying that he's already tried that, and it didn't work. If you want a broader scope, I'd say that it's about any one that your in a relationship with...Mother, Father, etc...And their saying '"Well, let's fix the problem my way."' And you look at them and say, '"I can see right through you. Your fake, and you don't wanna fix shit! You just want me to keep doing what you want me to, to do things your way! And I'm telling you, I see right through it, and it doesn't work! So, I'm gonna do it my way!"' That's how it is with my mom. '"Oh, I really do love you girls, and I want a relationship..."' But she doesn't call, or visit us, and so Becca and I are like, '"Fuck you!! Your a liar, and a fake! You don't want anything, other then to have us at your beck and call! And it's not gonna happen, 'cause your a fake!"' So, that's my interps.
