I agree to a degree with the bright eyed girl though, I think he's trying to encapsulate his struggle to create something new musically, when people (in his own mind) may have expected Foo Fighter's sound to be rather Nirvana like. "Pissing on a wet wall" in particular, he's saying that he fell he's just doing what's already been done...
