Man, this song is good. Well IMHO, I think this song talks about two people: God, and Matt... or whoever. For most of the song, I think it's as if God is placed in as the speaker, then in some verses, it switches off to the singer. For example:
"I tried to move you, but you wouldn't budge
I tried to hold your hand but you'd rather hold your grudge"
It's like God was trying to get to the person, trying to get a hold of some person but all the person did was "peeled out and drive away" from God.
Then on the last verse, it's as if the singer is shifting the blame on God, "why didn't you stop me from turning out this way." I think basically, the whole song is where to people are talking.
I also think this has some connection to "I so hate consequences" 'cuz when I saw that "you peel out and drive away" line, it sorta reminds me of "I so hate consequences" because, I'd ask myself, why did he/she drive away from God?
