i def. think this song is about letting go of someone that meant a lot...i'm sure he wrote it about kate...it's so relateable...the second time he repeats

is so powerful...i think he's saying that it doesn't matter what you're thinking if you can't do anything to change it...so you should just cut your losses and move on with life...it's a sad but sorta inspirational song~
