When I first read the lyrics to this song (I read it before I heard it) I was blown away. I just KNEW it was inspired by my absolute favorite poem--Ephemera by William Butler Yeats. This poem and many other Yeaets poems can make me cry (no other poet does this for me) and move me more than I can say--the same way DG's songs do. Especially when I'm going through a break up, or falling in love, or feeling nostalgic. A few years later a friend of mine actually met DG and asked him for me if it was inspired by this poem--and he said yes! It was so cool.
