to me...it sounds like a guy is in a relationship with a girl who has no self esteem. and that guy is probably pretty emotionally abusive, he might not intend to be so abusive to the girl but he can't help it because of his own weakness. and becuase she wont say anything it keeps building up to a point where she breaks down. then he realizes what hes done for the moment, apologizes and comforts her, and then the cycle resumes.
