I've never thought about it before, so I'm just thinking this up of the top of my head.
I think it's about someone who's on the 'darker' side, and meets someone who's more pure and admirable. They fall in love, but the first person ends up rejected eventually. The first person then feels captured. They think the other person owns them, and they realize that the one they loved wasn't so pure and perfect after all..
