Oh for pete's sake - the mannequin (not robot)...doesn't kill anybody! The people kill the mannequin. "flesh tone shards" = chunks of skin-colored plastic. The thing shows up and magically sucks itself back together (after likely having met a similarly violent fate in the last town). It delivers it's message which the townspeople either take great offense to...or, in a stereotypically rural manner, fail to understand and thus violently fear...and they blow it away. They gather up the evidence, dump it all in the next town over, and agree to never speak of the whole "mannequin thing" again. And the cycle begins anew.
