This song must be a b-side or something cus it’s incredibly hard to find and doesn’t really sound anything like the rest of their music. Really it sounds more like Radiohead than anything else. As far I can tell, the lyrics have something to do with the progression of technology in the postmodern world. I don’t know why the narrator of this song feels he has to be ‘everyone’s magician’. Maybe it’s specifically about how technology is changing the face of music. People who can’t really sing can be made to sound like they can because of new production tools. (Sugar Ray, Brittany Spears, Avril Lavigne) If this climate furthers, music will have more to do with style than music, more symbolism than substance. Maybe he is saying he feels responsible to carry the torch for real talent in the music world. Your guess is as good as mine. Unless, of course, you can find some interviews. :-)
