I drove there in 2002 - after reaching Machrihanish, you drive up a long one way country road through hills and grazing rams until you reach a deadend and a sign. Then you can walk down to the mull and look out onto the ocean. (Bring your raincoat)
Its very peaceful down that part of Scotland and it's an area not promoted by the Scottish Tourist Board. Was quite a powerful experience for me being there - was like being in a dreamland that existed in my childhood memories.
