Sort of obvious. This song is a about a young girl, La Tonya 15 (16 in August lol), who gives her body (sex) feeling it gives her the temporary love even though the guys never fall for her her or love her. With all this, La Tonya still has life goals and a strong faith in god.

This is a great song. I love it to death. Especially in the end when it feels like Paula is singer to her, like thier in church and Paula is the preacher, touching La Tonya and Tonya is just getting the holy ghost in her. I see that when i hear that last 'oh no no no" scatting part.

The little echo, Daddy's gone (My name is La Tonya) Mama lost her job (I am a sophomore) Our house ain't a home no more (I'll be sixteen in August) Since Mama broke her soul (I like to sing in chorus) Daddy's gone (My name is La Tonya) Mama lost her job (I am a sophomore) Our house ain't a home no more (I'll be sixteen in August)....is so beautiful.
