i look at it like the singer loves this girl so much but she fucks around and just cant get her act together. the singer wants to help her and tries, but its hard because she is so caught up in everything in her life (whether shes trying to solve her problem(s) and is only focused on that OR doesnt even realize she has one and is just caught up in the situations of her life). he loves her even though she ends up hurting him with everything she does and the way she treats him. he knows he shouldnt even bother because this girl going down and bringing him with her, but he wants to be there for her and help her because he loves her. i think she uses him because she knows he'll always be there, even though he shouldnt - and he knows she is using him too. hes tired of it but he probably wont change and neither will she
