Something's Missing Lyrics

during the Renaissance there was a certain Frenchman named Pascal who was known as a mathmatician, a philospher and an inventor. He was also a Christian, and he proposed that every person had a "God shaped hole' inside of them that they needed to fill.

I do not think that John Mayer wrote this song about Jesus, but it certainly does reflect the way everyone feels, and if a person has tried everything to fill in that void in their life and they are still coming up empty, maybe it is because they need to fill that 'God shaped hole' with God. It seems obvious that if John Mayer feels this way, there is no way any of us can have enough money or prestige or talent to get past this feeling.

Jesus is the answer to this question, if you are curious, check out http://www.needhim.org/g/. It can't hurt just to look at it. I am a Christian and I can tell you, John Mayer may not realize it, but he is singing about his own need for Jesus.
