Its not that he isnt impressed by the words I Love You. He just isn`t impressed by "such nonsense as saying i love you". Some people seem to believe they could escape an arguement by simply saying nice things like I love you, without even meaning it. Saying these words in situations where there is no need for them is nonsense.
