I still quite haven't figured out a meaning for this song, it makes me think of possible political views with all the 'Self Lies" "As we tear down there disguise" etc.
But on the other hand the chorus reminds me of being on a night out. "I can see the headlights and pavements, My legs can't carry me that far". This being like when you're totally pissed and can't walk. And then "If this distance isn't enough they'll cry another river to see you drown". This reminds me of all the times when there always ends up with some girls crying. But I'm not sure the verses match up with the chorus. It's all intertwining and confusing.
I love this song though, I personally love the ending where it all mellows down and then builds up into an instrumental crescendo, absolutely brilliant.
Great end to the album, can't wait for the new one in 2005!! \m/
