The Jesus thing is an extended metaphor, kids. It's about unrequited love, and how it feels so bad to know that she'll (or he'll) never feel the same way; it feels like the end of the world and like you'll never be able to pick yourself up and love someone again - 'never will I rise again'.
The Jesus metaphore - it's using the fact that in the scriptures Jesus 'so loved the world' and yet they let him die. This girl in the song just doesn't know or care that the guy is so in love with her.
'She's not so special' - he's trying to convice himself to move on, and he wishes she'd 'never come back here again': out of sight, out of mind.
