You can definately sense that he was being pushed in a direction that was meant to market him as a caricature of himself. Almost a "Hey look, there goes Matt Good and he is pissed off about something" approach to demeaning his words and his thoughts through painting him as a radical left wing nutjob. Also a sense of self-reflection perhaps? Matthew is seeing Matt Good through the eyes of someone else.
I think the 2nd verse is the current Matt Good speaking with the MGB version of himself, convincing himself to just let go.
The 3rd verse is the realization that he hadn't been controlling where he was going...that he was asleep at the wheel and when he woke up, everything else around him was gone. All the reasons for him being there were gone.
