Love this song. My mom used to sing it to me as a lullabye. It may sound odd, but I was never into the "Rock a Bye Baby" crap, even when I was little. :) Anyways, this song is so great. It's sad, but it's also happy and hopeful in a way. In a far-off, distant way. Go Beatles!! Yay!!
Either that, or we have had very similar childhoods my friend.
I never knew the name of this song, yet I knew every word, and as I was singing it today, I was told the name of it by a friend. As such, I have downloaded it, listened to it quite a few times, and then I looked it up, which led me here.

And what a suprise to see, as I am reading the comments, about to write my own about how my Mother used to sing this to me as a lullaby, your comment.
Quite interesting actually. I teared earlier today when I heard it.
