In my opinion, this song seems to me like it's about domestic violence. Some tell-tale lyrics are: "cucumber eyes" and "black and blue all over," and pretty much the entire verse that begins with "...I feel so powerless//I've got to stop it somehow."
It strikes me as such because I've often heard from battered women that she loves her partner intensely, even though he abuses her; that may be illustred by the lyric, "I'm adoring you//it's all good..," etc. To her, the violence and abuse is part of being in love, thus "it's good to be in love."
