I always thought it was 'distant sun, nova fucker', as in the Sun. It means that while the real thing, the core is safely in the distance, you're screwing with all the things that are like it. Either meaning that you don't want to face the real thing and are fucking with what's not so that you don't have to deal with it, or screwing with them on your way, trying to find the real thing (but it's far away yet).
