I think it's about somebody who was happy and content with life, so much so that be became jaded and negative. He kind of wonders what he did to deserve to be so happy and fulfilled and is so apprehensive about it all ending that he ends up becoming bitter and cynical. Of course, I could just be talking from experience here ;)
