Some mistakes in this song's lyrics:
In the first verse "Working too hard can give YOU a heart attack(ack-ack-ack-ack...)" (not me) and "Is that ALL you get FOR your money?"
In the bridge "MAMA, if that's moving up..."
In the second verse Spelling mistake: checy=CHEVY
In the third verse "You COULD pay Uncle Sam with THE overtime"
As for the meaning, I always thought the song was about workaholism and failing to get out of the rat race, but it could equally be about immigration
