I do NOT believe this song is about socialism or Stalin or russia in any way. this song is about blue collar workers that work daily to earn a paycheck to feed their families, but feel trapped. the simple plan is just to go along with this, to earn your paycheck, feed your family and be a good worker. But thinking of his family no longer makes him want to stay in this grind. The simpler plan is suicide.
