To me this song is about a relationship that ended... but she still loves him. The part where she sings about "tremors of a quake you can't forget" could be a break-up that hurt both of them- but no matter what, after all of that, she will always have a place for him in her heart. I can relate this to my life-- I've learned that you can always love someone after a relationship is through. It doesn't necessarily mean that the two of you belong together, but you know that you will always love them.
