The meaning of the song is quite obvious, it's about an underdog, most likely a close friend who can't keep 'falling for the creep'. Overall, the lyrics are great and the music is very retro at times and then indie and then childish and just full of music style that normally wouldn't go well together but are intertwined in this song beautifully.
