To me this song is talking about:

"Everyday life takes it's toll When are we going home?"

how we live our livesand day after day we're getting closer to death, and he's just wondering when we're going back to eternal blackness.

"I feel no pulse, no vital signs. A forced impulse among idle minds"

In reality there's no life. We're all just forcing ourselfs to believe everything we see abd hear because we want SOMETHING to believe

"The toll that my life's taken everyday. Don't think I'll ever make it home."

He doesn't believe there's something there for him when he's gone.

Now so everyone knows tihs is IMO and I'm fairly new to listening to Mushroomhead but I love everything I've heard, and if I'm way off to you then so be it I look at music one way, you look at it your way thats the point of most music so you look at it and get exactly what you want out of it weather it's right or wrong
