i think hes been in love with this girl. i think, theyve been having a platonic relationship, or the girl just doesnt want to commit.

so, this song is like, "heyyy, cmon lets go. lets move on to another level." cos hes 'getting old' and 'tired'.

and now, he feels like hes losing this girl. 'this could be the end of everything' and 'simple thing where have you gone?'

i guess, he wants everything back to normal and more. haha, this is my guess. =)
