I think this song was written about the really bad recording contract that Queen had with Trident eg he uses 'money-make machine' maybe to describe their managers that made alot of money out the band when they were still living in bedsits (This is true - John's partner had her first child when they were still living in a bedsit in London). I think Queen were (rightfully) quite bitter about the whole thing when they wrote this. Sorry for rambling, it's just my opinion :) damn good song though :D
