My mom had me listen to the entire soundtrack before we went to see the play. I feel so much for Eponine because I have gone through and continue to go through the pain she felt because she had to watch the man she would do anything for fall in love with another woman. At least she didn't have to see that same woman break the man's heart. It's even worse because (depending on the guy) they go into this deep depression.
I cried endlessly when I first heard this song. In the play, I cried even more because I was seeing it. In the play, she kisses him (him kissing her back) before she dies, then she dies in his arms. This play made me cry sooo many times! I sware I used a thousand kleenexes. I have yet to read the book, but I plan on it VERY soon.
