I disagree that the above lyrics are actually what is being sung, regardless of the source. Here is what I hear when I listen acutely. My feeble interpretation is at the bottom.
last seat on the bus
who you gonna trust
which one do you follow
last seat on the bus
don't make such a fuss
this much should make hallow
because every time you make yourself the reason
is every time you make yourself beaten yeah
this is all American cliché
American, American
get all of us
this is all American cliché
American, American
get all of us
first seat of the bus
who you gonna trust
which one do you may follow
first seat own the bus (first seat own the bus)
don't make such a fuss (do make such a fuss)
which one do you make hollow
now every time you make yourself our reason
is every time you make your friend the beaten yeah
this is all American cliché
American, American
get all of us
this is all American cliché
American, American
get on the bus
you want a way to be the same
you want a way to be the same
you want a way to be the same
how now?
should
god
go
go
go
go
yeah
yeah
go go go go go go go go go go go go
Perhaps first is a message to Semites, in that they would like to be at peace, but are bound by the teachings of their religions, and fail, enslaved to war with each themselves (Jews and Arabs are both semitic by definition).
Perhaps second is a message to Americans, and how they play this conflict, as it is indeed their money that contributes to it, knowingly or not.
It is a 'cliché', as the world is good and sick of this foolishness, and it is 'American' because, again, the people of the U.S.A. fund this conflict to the tune of $94,156,200,000 (from 1949 on and including 2005 proposal).
Underneath, however, the Semites want to let the old hatreds die, and treat each other as equals, but to do so they may need to abandon their respective religions.
